Job Summary: Reporting directly to the Sr. Director of Quality
and Patient Safety, the Medical Staff Peer Review Coordinator
performs a wide variety of functions designed to coordinate and

Position Summary: Works closely with Sr. Director, Risk Management
in the ongoing development, implementation, and coordination of the
Medical Center’s clinical risk management program, with the objectives
of participating in safety and quality improvement activities and
controlling and minimizing professional liability claims. In addition
to carry a daily caseload, oversees the analysis of risk management
data, the preparation of reports and the performance of risk management
educational programs. Administers the clinical risk management program
operations on a day- to-day basis and provides supervision, training
and support for the Clinical Risk Managers. Works collaboratively
with the self-insurance program Claims Manager regarding general
and professional liability claims. Performs the duties and responsibilities
of the Senior Director in his/her absence.
Registered Nurse and Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare field required.
Master’s Degree in health related field or MBA preferred. Certified
Professional in Healthcare Risk Management certification (or eligibility
to sit for certification) or other Risk Management certification
preferred. Minimum of seven years experience in healthcare risk management,
preferably gained at an academic medical center. Must have a demonstrated
ability to develop and implement risk management policies and procedures
to ensure an effective Risk Management Program. Must demonstrate
knowledge of, and the ability to apply, Risk Management and legal
principles related to patient care. Must possess the interpersonal
skills necessary to deal effectively with a cross section of medical
center executives, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
and demonstrated leadership skills
Position Qualifications: Must be able to demonstrate the ability
to use effective data-gathering, investigation and analysis techniques
and skills. Must possess the ability to manage multiple projects
simultaneously and adhere to work deadlines. Must demonstrate the
ability to write and communicate clearly and effectively. Strong
computer skills required. Must demonstrate the ability to educate
and train others and have strong presentation/public speaking skills,

Responsible for assisting with the day-to-day implementation of the
Quality and Performance Improvement/Risk Management plans for the
hospital. Assists with follow-up of patient safety and risk issues.
Works with departments to develop and implement hospital tracking
system for QI issues. Reviews department quality indicators for compliance.
Reviews and analyzes incident reports and follows up. Participates
in PI meetings. Conducts root cause analysis. Assists Director with
appropriate reporting of risk events. Must have Bachelor's degree
in healthcare related field; Master's preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years
related experience in a healthcare setting with a focus on patient
safety, risk management, or quality improvement. Strong organizational,
interpersonal, analysis, and computer skills. ASHRM or CPHQ designation
preferred.
