Welcome to the Massachusetts Society for Healthcare Risk Management website (MSHRM).

MSHRM is a vibrant and active Chapter, recognized nationally for a long standing tradition of contributing significantly to the ongoing professional development of healthcare risk managers. Our membership includes experts in the risk management, claims, insurance and legal community who give generously of their time, knowledge and experience to educate and mentor our members.

As the 2012 President, I have the privilege of serving on the Board for a third time! I’m always enriched by the experience and look forward to working with the Board and membership.

This year promises to be an exciting one for MSHRM. We strive to stay true to our Mission, Vision and Goals, while growing and changing to meet the needs of our membership and a challenging healthcare industry. The Board held a strategic planning meeting in December 2011 where a clear plan for building on the great work of the 2011 Board, as well as an exciting set of enhancements was developed. We’ll be leveraging technology, reviewing our structure, committees and Bylaws to make us as effective, efficient and fiscally responsible as possible. We’re also the host Chapter for the 22nd Annual New England Regional Healthcare Risk Management Conference, May 6-8, 2012 in Providence, RI. Hope to see you all there!

Our goal is to provide resources, communication and opportunities for our membership. The Board and committees are comprised of MSHRM members and “We Need You” to make a commitment to participate to keep us relevant, focused and productive.
